Welcome to the 19th Newsletter!

Hope you are doing well out there and have survived festival season!
We know it’s not been long since our last newsletter but we’ve got some exciting things coming up over the next couple of months.
We are as always super grateful to our members for sending us a postcard letting us know what they are up to! You can send us a postcard via email or our Facebook Group!

Here is a lovely Gig-postcard that we received a little while ago from the gorgeous Backliner miss Sharon Bampton ‘Bamo’ (WILMAward winner) from The Zutons on the right with her dear colleague Alice, Production Coordinator for Madness on the left 💌

What we’ve been up to since last time….

Stockholm Meetup – August 16th

Sweden
Despite the fact that most of our members in Sweden had to work on this day, we managed a nice little intimate meet-up at Södra Teatern in the middle of Stockholm city with the most spectacular view of the Swedish capital. Our dear member, Sound Engineer & Stage manager, Christina Svärdström gave us a very interesting tour at this legendary venue. Afterwards we enjoyed some ice cold drinks, and discussed subjects like ‘Why do female crew members tend to talk themselves down when the show went fine’? And ‘Why are female crew members’ workflow often being questioned compared to our male colleagues’ and other interesting topics. ‘Worst gig Ever’ stories were also being shared across the table – All in all a nice day! 🤗

WILM Instagram – Tell us who you are…..

image8
We have started an Instagram Takeover! WILM team members and other interesting crew folk from the live music industry, one at a time have started ‘hijacking’ the WILM Instagram profile for a week to give you a glimpse of their world and who they are.
Next coming up will be WILM’s very own Co-director and monitor engineer for Florence & The Machine Hannah Brodrick who will give you an insight to the inner workings of the “Dance Fever” Canada and US tour.

If you would like to be one of the profiles that takes over the WILM Instagram for a week to show us your Touring/Gig/Venue world we would love to hear from you! Please send us an email via [email protected]
