Walk & Talk at First Direct Arena, Leeds
WILM invites you to join us for an exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ tour and discussion about a large-scale touring production at First Direct Arena, Leeds on Friday the 13th December.
This event will be lead by Sarah Hollis (Production Manager) and Kerryn Duckworth (Head of Operations at the venue). Both are incredibly experienced women in their field.
Sarah has been working as a Production Manager for 25+ years and we think she is probably one of the first female touring PM’s out there!
Kerryn has worked in Venue Management for 16 years starting her events career at the Manchester Arena in 2008 as Events Coordinator then worked through to Events Manager, Senior Events Manager and now Head of Operations at the First Direct Arena.
Sarah will take us through the technical and logistical aspects of the touring production and then Kerryn will do a venue walkthrough after that covering topics such as the events team, security, maintenance, cleaning and health and safety.
There are many women in various roles across different departments so we are hopeful we will get to meet them too!
This show is designed by Emmy Award-winner Rob Sinclair, renowned for his work with Madonna, Kylie, Queen, and many other iconic artists. Alongside his design, the production features sound, video, and a significant use of Kinesys Apex automation! ⚙️ No matter your career path or area of interest, there’s a wealth of knowledge to explore here.
Whether you are a newcomer or more experienced you are very welcome to join us and learn all about what goes into making a big show at an indoor venue happen!
Please note: This event is for people interested in live concert production – technical and logistics . We would therefore like to know a bit about your previous experience and interest in live events and expect you to answer a couple of questions with your registration. This info will be passed to the production to make sure that those attending get the best experience.
The Walk & Talk will start at 13:00 and end at 15:00. Please note: this event does not give admission to the show in the evening.
We ask that you kindly do not take any photos or videos at this event.
